Movies in the Garden returns this fall with an All ’80s Flashback series of films! Join us in the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden for a screening of the 1984 supernatural comedy Ghostbusters. Arrive early to participate in an Instagram scavenger-hunt contest and the Art on the Spot family activity table. Musician Marc Stone will provide pre-show entertainment.

Friday Nights at NOMA: NOMA-Tulane-SOPA Design Symposium: Technology and Storytelling

The New Orleans Museum of Art is pleased to partner with the Tulane University School of Professional Advancement (SoPA) for a Design Symposium series in the spring and fall of 2018 that recognizes and connects creative, innovative, and critical thinkers and designers in the region. The fall symposium is themed “Technology & Storytelling: Animation, Special Effects, Virtual & Augmented Reality.” Visitors may attend a panel discussion among creative industry leaders and try virtual reality headsets.

This evening join environmental scientist Elizabeth Chamberlain for a lecture about Louisiana's fragile terrain and its resilient people, hosted in conjunction with the exhibition East of the Mississippi: Nineteenth-Century American Landscape Photography. New Orleans-based Balkan band Blato Zlato will perform in the Great Hall.
