Charitable IRA Rollover

If you are age 70 ½ or older, you can give any amount (up to a maximum of $100,000) per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity like NOMA without having to pay income taxes on the money. Gifts of any value $100,000 or less are eligible for this benefit and you can feel good knowing that you are supporting powerful arts experiences that engage and unite diverse communities and cultures. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.

Please talk with your tax adviser or other financial professionals to determine whether an IRA charitable rollover could benefit you.

Bequests

One of the most powerful ways you can celebrate your love of art is by including NOMA as a beneficiary of your will. Your bequest can support the museum’s mission broadly or your favorite department or program. Please contact us at support@noma.org for sample language.

If you decide to leave us in your will, please reference our legal name, New Orleans Museum of Art, and our tax ID: 72-6000331. We want to thank you for your gift! Please contact us at support@noma.org to learn more about the Isaac Delgado Society.

Beneficiary Designations

Not everyone wants to commit to making a gift in their wills or estates. Some prefer the increased flexibility that a beneficiary designation provides by using:

  • IRAs and retirement plans
  • Life insurance policies
  • Commercial annuities

It only takes three simple steps to make this type of gift. Here’s how to name NOMA as a beneficiary:

  • Contact your retirement plan administrator, insurance company, bank or financial institution for a change-of-beneficiary form.
  • Decide what percentage (1 to 100) you would like us to receive and name us, along with the percentage you chose, on the beneficiary form.
  • Return the completed form to your plan administrator, insurance company, bank or financial institution.

If you have named NOMA as a beneficiary, we want to thank you for your gift! Please contact us at support@noma.org to learn more about the Isaac Delgado Society.
