Teens

Poets for Art – Saturday, April 7, 10 am – 4 pm

Students in grades 8 – 12 are invited to participate in a poetry workshop with Louisiana Poet Laureate Jack Bedell. Workshop participants tour the museum and Besthoff Sculpture Garden to select a work of art that inspires or engages them. Working with a professional writer, students will develop and write a poem. Students are invited to submit their completed poem to NOMA for publication in a soft-bound book which will be mailed to all participants. Experienced and novice poets are invited to apply. Lunch is provided.

Teen Squad

NOMA seeks creative, enthusiastic, dedicated high school students to join the NOMA Teen Squad! Become a part of the museum team and help shape teen programs at NOMA!

Teen Volunteer Opportunities

Get involved at NOMA through a variety of volunteer opportunities. Teens of all ages are invited to a monthly day of service in the sculpture garden. No chaperones are required. Also, NOMA seeks enthusiastic, hard-working, creative teen volunteers to be art camp counsilors. Volunteering in NOMA’s summer art camps provides teens with professional experience in an art classroom environment.

Teen Pass

Take advantage of the Teen Pass at NOMA. Teenagers (ages 13-19) receive free admission to NOMA through the end of 2017 thanks to The Helis Foundation!

Taylor Scholars Program

The Taylor/New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) Scholars Program provides students a chance to experience the collections of the region’s preeminent fine arts institution as an award for their academic excellence.
