NOMA and the Besthoff Sculpture Garden will be closed on Saturday, March 2, as City Park and the surrounding Mid-City neighborhood plays host to the Endymion parade for Carnival season. Join us on March 3 for regular Sunday hours from 11 am to 5 pm.

On Saturday, April 6, NOMA is participating in International Slow Art Day, which encourages visitors to slow down and explore one or several works of art for a minimum of five minutes each. Instructional materials may be found at the admission desk.

Louisiana-born saxophonist, artist, photographer, and composer Dickie Landry will perform one of his legendary site-specific SOLO concerts in tribute to the work of Keith Sonnier and Tina Girouard. In his 60-minute performance in NOMA’s Great Hall, Landry will play the tenor saxophone to explore the textures and abstract layers of sound within NOMA’s iconic architecture.

Photographer Timothy Duffy, whose tintype portraits of American roots musicians are on view in the exhibition Blue Muse, will sign his companion book of the same title at the Museum Shop.

NOMA and the Besthoff Sculpture Garden will be open for Memorial Day on Monday, May 27, from 12 to 5 pm.
