Summer Camp Session 6: Ways of Knowing Preteen Art Intensive (Ages 11–13)
NEW! NOMA is excited to introduce a new summer offering for middle school students: the Pre-Teen Art Intensive. This one-week camp program provides campers with an opportunity to work closely with a teaching artist to hone creative skills and develop their own projects.
Taylor Family Day
In partnership with the Patrick F. Taylor Foundation, NOMA presents an annual family day for Taylor Scholars. Students in the Taylor Scholars program are invited to #ExploreNOMA and participate in special activities throughout the day.
The Rainbow Prince
NOMA is hosting a free screening of The Rainbow Prince. Co-created by Marea Claybourne-Napier and her mother—filmmaker Laura Napier—the short film is a modern-day children’s story that presents a new take on traditional fairytales.
Mini Masters at the Library
Norman Mayer Library 3001 Gentilly Boulevard, New Orleans, LA, United StatesMini Masters at the Library brings together art and early literacy activities for children ages 2–5 and their caregivers. Each program takes place at the Norman Mayer Library.
The Seagull; or, How to Eat It
The classic Chekhov plays gets a modern, local update in this adaptation by the NOLA Project in NOMA's Besthoff Sculpture Garden.
Studio KIDS! (Ages 6–10)
Join us this fall for Studio KIDS! art-making workshops for youth ages 6–10. Meet at the museum on select Saturday mornings to take a look at artworks in the galleries and practice your own art-making skills with a NOMA teaching artist. Registration includes all art-making materials.
Baby Artsplay! (12–24 Months)
Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden 1 Collins Diboll Circle, New Orleans , LAYoung Audiences of Louisiana (YALA) presents a free six-part workshop series for children ages 12–24 months and their caregivers—inspired by works on view at NOMA!
Family Day: Say Cheese!
Kids and their grown-ups are invited for a day of free family fun at the museum! Explore all things photography—on both sides of the camera. Pose for a photo at our artist-run pop-up, visit the museum’s galleries, enjoy a time-hopping musical performance by Little Stompers, get creative with art-making activities, and more.
See Me: Teen Art & Poetry Lounge
Teens are invited to experience the exhibition Called to the Camera: Black American Studio Photographers and enjoy a space devoted to rest and self-representation, designed by NOMA’s Teen Art Council. See Me explores themes from the exhibition like self-portraiture, identity, and the uses of photography in the past and today.
