Taylor Scholars Day

Join us for a a special Family Day at NOMA that celebrates the academic achievements and excellence shown by Taylor Scholars throughout the state. We’ve planned a full day of activities for students, families and educators of all ages.

Schedule of Events:

  • 10 am – 5 pm: Educator Appreciation Day – all day, educators are welcomed to NOMA and will receive free admission
  • 10 am – 5 pm: NOMA scavenger hunt – focused on a teen audience, but appropriate for visitors of all ages, this scavenger hunt will encourage students and their families to explore the museum’s exhibitions and permanent collection
  • 10 am – 5 pm: Drawings throughout the day for prizes and gifts from the NOMA Shop
  • 10 am – 12 noon: Studio KIDS! explores art made by diverse cultures as inspiration for art projects. From beading to painting, each class features different media and techniques; the theme of this class will be “Writing on the Wall”
  • 11 am: StoryQuest with a reader from Young Audiences will bring the world of children’s literature to NOMA; after the reading, families are encouraged to explore the galleries using their Quest Cards
  • 12 noon: Docent-guided tour will give visitors of all ages a thought-provoking experience through the collection and exhibitions currently on view
  • 12 noon – 4 pm: Art on the Spot will feature a teaching artist from Young Audiences. This hands-on art activity is for visitors of all ages and skill levels
  • 1 pm – 4 pm: Complimentary refreshments for Taylor Scholars from Café NOMA
  • 2 pm: Docent-guided tour of the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden will give visitors a chance to explore the beloved garden, containing more than 65 works of art
  • 2 pm: Music for the whole family in the Great Hall , including a performance by KIPP Renaissance High School
