NOMA offers several programs for free or discounted admission to the museum.
Free General Museum Admission on Wednesdays for Louisiana Residents Courtesy of The Helis Foundation
Every Wednesday, Louisiana residents receive free general museum admission to NOMA courtesy of the Helis Foundation. Tickets to special exhibitions and programs may have an additional fee.
Free General Museum Admission for Youth
Children ages 12 and under receive free general museum admission to NOMA.
Youth ages 13–19 receive free general museum admission to NOMA courtesy of The Helis Foundation.
Taylor Scholars receive free general museum admission with two guests.
Tickets to special exhibitions and programs may have an additional fee.
Free General Admission for Louisiana Residents Participating in the State’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Louisiana Combined Application Project (LaCAP)
Louisiana residents participating in the state’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Louisiana Combined Application Project (LaCAP) are able to take advantage of free general admission for two adults to the museum with a Louisiana Purchase Card or digital EBT card. Tickets to special exhibitions and programs may have an additional fee.
Free Admission Through Partner Libraries
NOMA collaborates with the New Orleans Public Library’s Culture Pass program and Ascension Parish Library’s Adventure Pass program to provide free general museum admission with advanced registration through each library system. Tickets to special exhibitions and programs may have an additional fee.
Free Admission Through the Blue Star Museum Program
Blue Star Museums is a partnership between the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families, in collaboration with the Department of Defense and museums across America, offering free admission to the nation’s active-duty military personnel and their families—including National Guard and Reserve—each year between Armed Forces Day and Labor Day. Tickets to special exhibitions and programs may have an additional fee.
Reciprocal Membership Benefits
NOMA participates in several reciprocal membership networks: the North American Reciprocal Museum Association, the Western Reciprocal Program, the Museum Alliance Reciprocal Program, and the Reciprocal Organization of Associated Museums. If you are a member of a participating museum, you may receive free admission to NOMA. Present your membership card featuring the reciprocal network logo at the admissions desk to take advantage of your reciprocal benefits. We recommend consulting with the membership department of your institution to see which networks your membership provides access to.
Discounted Admission for Louisiana Residents Taking Public Transportation to the Museum
Visitors from across the state of Louisiana receive $3 off one adult general museum admission ticket when they show their same-day ticket or receipt from New Orleans Regional Transit Authority buses or streetcars or from the Blue Bikes rideshare network. Guests may bring a physical ticket or Jazzy Pass to the museum or present proof of purchase on the Le Pass or Blue Bikes mobile apps.
Discounted Admission for Active Military with ID
General museum admission for active-duty military personnel is $10. Tickets to special exhibitions and programs may have an additional fee.
Discounted Admission for Seniors Ages 65 and Up
General museum admission for seniors ages 65 and up is $10. Tickets to special exhibitions and programs may have an additional fee.
Discounted Admission for University Students with ID
General museum admission for university students is $10. Tickets to special exhibitions and programs may have an additional fee.

- Unlimited admission to the museum’s galleries, including special exhibitions, and the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden.
