Lecture with Obi Nwakanma: The Mbari Artists and Writers Club: Reflections on the Foundations of African Modernism
NOMA’s Lapis Center for the ArtsNOMA is excited to present a lecture on the Mbari Artists and Writers Club with Obi Nwakanma, Professor of English and the Black Diaspora, at the University of Central Florida in conjunction with the exhibition Black Orpheus: Jacob Lawrence & the Mbari Club. Following the lecture, attendees will be invited to explore the exhibition until 8:30 pm.

Join us at the museum on select Saturday mornings for Studio KIDS! youth and pre-teen art-making workshops. We’ll take inspiration from an artwork in the galleries or garden, then return to the studio to make our own creations with a teaching artist. Registration is required and includes all art-making materials.
