In conjunction with The Orleans Collection exhibition, historian Joan DeJean will present a lecture titled “Champs-Elysées: Building Paris, Building New Orleans.” Dr. DeJean will focus on the 96 "female undesirables" who were deported from France to New Orleans in 1719 and how the urban layout of the city mirrored that of Paris.
