Performance by Artist Wangechi Mutu

As part of NOMA’s programming alongside the exhibition Wangechi Mutu: Intertwined, the museum is hosting a performance on Wednesday, April 3, by the internationally celebrated artist.
In the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Mutu will discuss her artistic practice and works permanently and temporarily installed in the garden. Mutu will engage with visitors outside the sculpture garden’s pavilion, which features a gallery of works by the artist.
This program is free, but capacity and seating are limited. Advanced registration is required.
About the Exhibition
The most complete survey of the artist’s work to date, Wangechi Mutu: Intertwined is a rare opportunity to see the range and depth of the artist’s practice across her influential career and to trace the thematic throughlines and progressions in her work. The exhibition spans the museum’s campus in spaces indoors and outdoors, building on the artist’s long relationship with New Orleans and the museum.
Two of Mutu’s sculptures are permanently installed in NOMA’s Besthoff Sculpture Garden. The program kicks off a series of talks by artists in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the garden.
