NOMA Reset: Enso Painting Workshop

Wed, March 24th, 2021 at 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Join NOMA for a new series of virtual workshops that focuses on mindfulness, creativity, comfort and reflection. NOMA Reset programs provide a much-needed infusion of relaxation and wellness by engaging our collective and individual wellbeing.

In Zen, ensō is a circle that is hand-drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create. The ensō symbolizes absolute enlightenment, strength, elegance, the universe, and mu (the void). It is characterized by a minimalism born of Japanese aesthetics.

This workshop will be led by Rose Bratcher who is an ensō painter and a monk at the New Orleans Zen Temple. Participation in the virtual program is free for everyone, and participants will need to provide their own supplies.
