Virtual Lunch Hour Preview of Mending the Sky

Tue, September 22nd at 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Grab your lunch and participate in a virtual online preview of our forthcoming exhibition Mending the Sky. Enroll in a Zoom video conference for Tuesday, September 22, from 12 to 1 pm with Contemporary Art Curator Katie Pfohl and Community Engagement Curator Nic Brierre Aziz as they describe works by eleven contemporary artists that address themes of calamity and regeneration. Questions, feedback, and dialogue are encouraged.

A Zoom link will be sent to all registrants for access to the free virtual program. Registration will close at 11 am on Tuesday, September 22.

Mending the Sky brings together eleven artist projects that envision our world after disaster. The exhibition takes its title from a Chinese fable in which a rip in the sky causes the earth to split open, bringing floods, fires, famine, and disease—until a goddess takes on the arduous task of mending the broken sky. The exhibition will open to the public on October 9, 2020 in the Ella West Freeman Gallery at NOMA.
