Tue, March 7th, 2023 at 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, repeating until Tue, April 25th, 2023

NOMA’s Art Thrives program creates opportunities exclusively for adults ages 55 and up to learn new skills while building community and having fun in the process. In conjunction with Black Orpheus: Jacob Lawrence and the Mbari Club, on view through May 7, we invite you to join us for an eight-session printmaking course.

Over eight weeks, participants will work with teaching artist, Belinda Tanno, and museum staff, to learn the tools, processes, media, and techniques of printmaking, while examining prints in the museum’s extensive collection. Activities will include block printing using linocut tools, mono-printing on gelee plates, and mini journal making.

No printmaking experience or prior knowledge is necessary to participate. Space is limited and advanced registration is required.

Please contact jrjohnson@noma.org or 504.658.4140 for more information or to inquire about future Art Thrives programs

$160 for the entire course | $120 for members

This program is currently at capacity.
