Get Creative with Studio KIDS!
This fall, Studio KIDS presents “Text and Textures” art classes for kids. Perfect for students ages 5-10 who want to get creative and learn art-making techniques. Studio KIDS explore art in NOMA’s galleries or the Besthoff Sculpture Garden as inspiration for an art project they complete in each session.
Each class features different media and techniques. Register for one class or the entire series. Please register in advance to ensure your spot.

September 7
Quilt Design | Explore The Quilts of Gee’s Bend and discover pattern while designing a “quilted” square in mixed media.
September 21
Text Base | Recycle pages from a book as a base for ink drawings of wrought iron designs that explore line and shape.
October 5
Grayscale Collage | Create a collage using found words and images in black, white, and shades of gray.
October 19
Sketchy Skeletons | Learn to draw a skeleton then place him in front of a structure of your choosing.
November 2
Fall Landscapes | Create a landscape using oil pastels in the shades of autumn.
November 16
Batik Cloths | Create a napkin or handkerchief using the Batik technique.
December 7
Pen and Zen | Zentangles are pen drawings made from one continuous line. Have fun with pen and ink and learn this relaxing process.
December 14
Stained Glass Windows | Make your own winter window using colored cellophane to create a stained glass effect.
