By Steven Forster for the Times-Picayune

To honor Chef Leah Chase’s contributions to the city, the New Orleans Museum of Art opened an exhibition of 20 paintings that capture her at work in Dooky Chase’s kitchen. The series, painted by New Orleanian Gustave Blache III, is an intimate glimpse into Chase’s restaurant business, depicting her stirring culinary concoctions, ordering supplies and greeting restaurant guests. Blache welcomed guests that included Richard Colton, Beverly McKenna, Diana Blache, Jennifer Ramsey, Beverly Ramsey, Sara Wilson and Marseille Blache.
