Leah Chase Demos At The New Orleans Musem Of Art Move To Bigger Venue

By Judy Walker, The Times-Picayune

The New Orleans Museum of Art has announced a change in plans because of an overwhelming response to the “Art You Can Eat” cooking demonstrations with chef Leah Chase.

The demonstrations for the days she will appear — July 13, August 3, 10 and 24 — will be moved from Café NOMA to the museum’s auditorium to accomodate the crowd.

Chefs from the restaurants in the Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group, which operates Cafe NOMA, are appearing on Friday nights during the museum’s popular end-of-the-week special events. The cooking clases are in her honor, as“Leah Chase: Paintings by Gustave Blache III,” twenty dinner plate-sized oil paintings capturing the effort behind Dooky Chase’s seven decades of success, are on display.

The classes are free with admission to the museum, but participants must register in advance.
