The NOLA Project Summer Reads: Treasure Island

Sun, June 6th, 2021 at 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

A stack of books sits on a beachfront boardwalk. Overlaid text reads: "The NOLA Project Summer Reads"

In anticipation of future performances, the NOLA Project presents a series of readings in NOMA’s brand-new Lapis Center for the Arts. All three readings are free with museum admission. Each event gives a behind-the-scenes look at the development of the NOLA Project’s upcoming performance seasons.

This brand-new comic adaptation of Treasure Island—penned by NOLA Project founders Allegra, Bartelle, and Wallace and inspired by the Besthoff Sculpture Garden’s beautiful waterfront amphitheater—blends story and sea shanties as the audience follows Long John Silver and his crew to Skull Island on a search for the notorious Captain Flint’s buried treasure.

This program is free with museum admission.
