NOMA Reset: Mindfulness

Sun, May 30th, 2021 at 10:30 AM

Join NOMA for a new series of virtual workshops that focuses on mindfulness, creativity, comfort and reflection. NOMA Reset programs provide a much-needed infusion of relaxation and wellness by engaging our collective and individual wellbeing.

The NOMA Reset: Mindfulness program will feature Dr. Jayashree Rao who will present how the concepts and practices of Buddhism arrived in the United States, and how it was presented – initially to patients with chronic pain and then to hospitals all across the United States and the western world – in a completely secular context. She will clarify what is and what is not ‘Mindfulness’; share how to incorporate the practices into daily life; and discuss the observed effects on how we live our lives and manage our stress and illnesses. The session will conclude with a short meditation.
