Public Opening for Dawn DeDeaux: The Space Between Worlds

Fri, October 22nd, 2021 at 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Join us for an evening of music, activities, and exploration to celebrate the opening of the new exhibition Dawn DeDeaux: The Space Between Worlds, on view October 22, 2021–January 23, 2022. This is the first comprehensive museum exhibition for the New Orleans–based multimedia artist whose work often investigates past and present to imagine possible futures.

This evening, we invite you to explore the new exhibition, enjoy an art-making activity, and participate in an interpretive video-booth project.

Public tours of the exhibition will be led by Katie Pfohl, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, at 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm. Tour group sizes will be limited to 15 participants available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Music by Michelle Welchons featuring Steve Lands, Brad Walker, Sean Weber, Shea Pierre, Wil Thompson, Gerald T. Watkins Jr., and Gabrielle Cavassa begins at 7:30 pm in NOMA’s Lapis Center for the Arts.

All programming is free with museum admission. Drinks will be available for purchase from Café NOMA.
