First Fridays at NOMA: Picture This

#ExploreNOMA after hours.

The museum is open late night for an evening packed with musical performances, gallery tours, and special pop-ups.

Each month, the museum presents First Fridays at NOMA, an after-hours inclusive programmatic mix of live DJs and bands; local creatives speaking about their favorite works of art; a range of performance and dance; and unique experiences of all kinds in response to art from across time and place.

Participants will meet artists, get creative, and immerse themselves in New Orleans’s creative community.

Music from Big Sam’s Funky Nation

7:30–9:00 pm in the Lapis Center for the Arts

Known for a boisterous blend of funk, jazz, rock, and hip-hop; nothing short of seismic live experiences; and a whole lot of Southern charm—Big Sam’s Funky Nation might very well be the Big Easy’s best kept secret. No other place could birth such an undeniable, unpredictable, and downright unique collective.

 

DJ sets from Delores Galore

6:00–7:30 pm and 9 pm–close in the Great Hall

Based out of New Orleans, Delores Galore creates synth sounds inspired by all decades. Her new album Don’t Get It Twisted reflects her battle with everyday obstacles and how they push forward with resilience, and strength.
