Small Talks and Noontime Talks for March 20-27

Small Talks are ten-to-fifteen-minute gallery talks focused on one object or a small group of objects. These brief informal sessions enrich the visitor experience and allow visitors to learn more about works of art in NOMA’s permanent holdings as well as those on view in temporary exhibitions.

Wednesday, March 20, 3 pm: Joan Miró’s Woman Strolling on the Rambla in Barcelona

Saturday, March 23, 3 pm: Edgar Degas’s Portrait of Estelle Musson Degas

Wednesday, March 27, 3 pm: Modigliani’s Portrait of a Young Woman

Noontime Talks (12 pm) are casual conversations frequently scheduled throughout the year at noon between artists, curators, and other special guests with NOMA visitors. Curatorial Fellow Allison Young will guide visitors through the newly opened exhibition Keith Sonnier: Until Today on Wednesday, March 20. Curator Katie Pfohl will lead visitors through the same exhibition on Wednesday, March 27. Community Outreach Curator Nic Aziz will also discuss the Voodoo flags on display in Bondye: Between and Beyond on Wednesday, March 27.

Admission is FREE to NOMA on all Wednesdays courtesy of The Helis Foundation.

Docent guided tours of the museum are offered daily at 1 pm. Guided tours of the Besthoff Sculpture Garden are offered on Saturdays and Mondays at noon, weather permitting. (Call 504.658.4153 to verify.)
