Small Talks are ten-to-fifteen-minute gallery talks focused on one object or a small group of objects. These brief informal sessions enrich the visitor experience and allow visitors to learn more about works of art in NOMA’s permanent holdings as well as those on view in temporary exhibitions.
Wednesday, December 12, 3 pm: Curator Katie Pfohl will discuss works in Ear to the Ground: Earth and Element in Contemporary Art.
Friday, December 14, 3 pm: NOMA Intern Marjorie Rawle will discuss the focus exhibition Mildred Thompson: Against the Grain.
Saturday, December 15, 3 pm: Docent Ambika Prasad will discuss Teaching Beyond Doctrine: Painting and Calligraphy by Zen Masters in the Art of Japan Gallery.
Sunday, December 16, 3 pm: Docent Elizabeth Davis will discuss Marsden Hartley’s Ice Hole, Maine.
Wednesday, December 19, 3 pm: Curatorial Fellow Allison Young will discuss the works in Lina Iris Viktor: A Haven. A Hell. A Dream Deferred.
Noontime Talks (12 pm) are casual conversations frequently scheduled throughout the year at noon between artists, curators, and other special guests with NOMA visitors. In the week ahead, Curatorial Fellow Allison Young will discuss works on view in the Great Hall in Lina Iris Viktor: A Haven. A Hell. A Dream Deferred on Wednesday, December 12. Curatorial Fellow Kelsey Brosnan will discuss The Orléans Collection on Wednesday, December 19.

Docent guided tours of the museum are offered daily at 1 pm. Guided tours of the Besthoff Sculpture Garden are offered on Saturdays and Mondays at noon through December 15.
