Sculpture Garden Guidelines

The Besthoff Sculpture Garden is the outdoor gallery of NOMA. Our sculptures and plantings are very important. Museum behavior applies.

Please:

  • Do not touch, climb, sit, or lean on the sculptures
  • Stay on the paved walkways and grassy lawns
  • Refrain from disturbing plants or wildlife
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times
  • No sunbathing; proper attire, including shirts and shoes, is required at all times
  • Do not bring your pets (although service animals are welcome)

In consideration of others:

  • The sculpture garden is a smoke-free environment
  • Sporting activities are not permitted
  • The public is not allowed to change clothes in the restrooms
  • No picnicking allowed
  • No bicycles, skateboards or roller blades; bike racks are provided near the gates for your convenience

Garden Features
  • 63 sculptures
  • 3,236 linear feet of pathways
  • Three pedestrian bridges crossing City Park Lagoon
  • 687 square-foot Cascade Garden Pool
  • Seating areas and terraces with views across the lagoon and through the Garden
  • Site lighting, including specialty lighting for sculptures
  • Ornamental plantings include white and purple blooming lily of the Nile and two varieties of ginger and crinum
  • Holy fern and Asian jasmine ground cover
  • Palmetto St. Augustine sod for all lawn areas
  • A variety of vines at the perimeter fence including evergreen wisteria, yellow jasmine evergreen clematis, star jasmine and rose of Montana
  • A variety of aquatic plantings at the lagoon edge primarily consisting of purple and yellow blooming varieties of Louisiana iris, yellow flag iris, spider lily, butterfly iris and horsetails
