Taylor Scholars Family Day

Join us for a a special Family Day at NOMA that celebrates the academic achievements and excellence shown by Taylor Scholars throughout Louisiana, all of whom are eligible for free admission. A full day of activities for students, families, and educators of all ages is planned throughout the galleries and Besthoff Sculpture Garden.
Schedule of Events
- All Day: Educator Appreciation Day — educators are welcome to NOMA with free admission.
- 10 am – 5 pm: A NOMA scavenger hunt, focused on a teen audience, but appropriate for visitors of all ages, will encourage students and their families to explore the museum’s exhibitions and permanent collection.
- 10 am – 2 pm: Drawings throughout the day for prizes and gifts from the NOMA Shop
- 10 am – 2 pm: Art on the Spot will feature a teaching artist from Young Audiences. This teaching artist-led, hands-on art activity is perfect for visitors of all ages and skill levels.
- 11 am: StoryQuest with a reader from Young Audiences will bring the world of children’s literature to NOMA; after the reading, families are encouraged to explore the galleries using their Quest Cards.
- 11 am – 2 pm: Complimentary soft drinks for Taylor Scholars from Café NOMA (limit one per student).
- 12 noon: Docent-guided tour will give visitors of all ages a thought-provoking experience through the collection and exhibitions currently on view.
- 2 pm: Docent-guided tour of the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden will give visitors a chance to explore the beloved garden, containing more than 65 works of art.
