Summer Camp Preteen Intensive: Fashion (Ages 11–13)
Mon, July 24th, 2023 - Fri, July 28th, 2023
Join us for summer camp at NOMA in 2023! Weeklong camp sessions offer small-group experiences devoted to a single age group at a time.
Preteen Intensive (Ages 11–13) | July 24–28
Identity and Design
Fiber, textiles, and adornment take the spotlight in this session on identity and design. Campers will work with teaching artists to explore the special exhibition Fashioning America: Grit to Glamour, draw connections with NOMA’s collection and sculpture garden, build core observational drawing skills, and make their own body of work on self-identity.
About Summer Camp at NOMA
Our summer camps are grounded in experiences with art in NOMA’s collection, special exhibitions, and the Besthoff Sculpture Garden. Campers explore the galleries and garden to engage in close looking and use conversations about artworks as a launching-off point to develop critical thinking skills, connect with others, and deepen personal identity and creativity.
We emphasize an interdisciplinary approach to creative thinking and art-making. Your young artist will explore various art-making mediums and processes including drawing, writing, movement, sculpture, painting, and more—all guided by professional teaching artists.
Summer camp sessions are based on guiding themes that vary week to week. Sign up for one OR multiple to build a meaningful summer experience!
