In this highly fantastical new play, a rebellious teenager on a mission to discover the truth about her father’s death and a squeamish park ranger who just wants to maintain some order find themselves accidentally thrust into a hidden fantasy realm full of exotic creatures, nefarious villains, and a giant spider who rules the land. Part The Chronicles of Narnia and part Labyrinth, THE SPIDER QUEEN takes its cues from the adventure stories of our childhoods and will dazzle audiences with large-scale puppets, vivid masquerade, and extravagant costuming. This must-see production, a collaboration between NOMA and The NOLA Project theater company, will be unlike any show staged in the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden.

Dates: May 10,11, 12, 14, 17, 18, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28 at 7:00 p.m. (Gates open at 6:00 p.m. with food and drinks available for purchase.)

Seating: Patrons are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets. A blanket-only area will be sited in front of all chairs for sightline purposes. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. for a 7 p.m. start time. There will be food trucks and a bar on site for food and drink purchases. No outside food or drink is allowed into the garden.

Rain Information: If a production is called off due to inclement weather, attendees will be notified no later than 5 p.m. via email with instructions on selecting another date or requesting a refund.
