The Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC) has recognized the winners of the first ever SEMC Technology Competition, designed to recognize and reward excellence in the use of technology by southeastern museums.
CultureConnect and its tablet app for the New Orleans Museum of Art won the gold prize in both the Applications and Gallery Installations categories.
The startup builds mobile museum apps and digital tours for the arts, tourism, and education. Since launching, CultureConnect has also expanded to serving cities, parks, art fairs, zoos and many more clients.
The competition encourages innovation, effective design, accessibility, creativity and pride of work, and recognition of institutional identity. SEMC aims to increase educational and professional development opportunities and improve the interchange of ideas, information, and cooperation.
