Description

Yombe scepter carved from ivory, depicting both a seated chief and bound prisoner. The chief is chewing a small root (munkkwisa). A band runs around the top of the scepter representing the chief's cap of office. Below the seated chief, the prisoner is shown bound to the shaft of the tusk with rope.
