This figure is associated with what is now referred to as the "Bankoni" style, referring to a group of terra cotta elongated figures with tubular limbs and flangelike elements, found buried near the village of Bankoni. The figurative terra cotta scultpure from this region may have been conceived of as groupings, representing male and female figures in a variety of guises.

These groupings were possibly displayed in a theatircal manner during annual celebrations like those arrangements of the Bamana Jo and Gwan cults in the region. Although this figure shares certain features with one that was excavated near the villiage of Bankoni, there are definitive stylistc differences, particulary with the figure's facial features.
