The annual Art In Bloom Lecture Series allows guests to learn from leading talents in floral arts and design.
This year’s lecture will be given by TJ McGrath, a New Jersey–based floral designer and educator recognized for his thoughtful, foam-free approach to floral design and his advocacy for seasonal, locally rooted practices. After transitioning from a corporate career in 2015, he founded T.J. McGrath Design, LLC, in 2021, cultivating a studio practice grounded in sustainability, intentional mechanics, and a deep respect for place.
T.J.’s work spans intimate arrangements to large-scale installations, created primarily with American-grown botanicals and informed by long-standing relationships with flower farmers
and sustainability leaders nationwide. His design philosophy is both practical and poetic, emphasizing proportion, restraint, and harmony over rigid formulas. This ethos is also reflected in his organically tended cutting garden at Jardin de Buis, which serves as a living classroom for much of his education-focused work.
A sought-after speaker and educator, T.J. has presented at the Slow Flowers Summit and Florescence (Houston, 2025), and has served as an educator for the New York Botanical Garden’s Plant Studio. His work and perspective have been featured in Luxe, Florist Review, and other publications.

Canadian-British, London-based designer EDELINE LEE grew up in Vancouver, Canada, before moving to London and graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2008. After working at luxury labels including Zac Posen, Alexander McQueen and Christian Dior, Edeline launched her own label at London Fashion Week where she is known for her immersive and performative shows. All Edeline Lee pieces are made by hand in England and are designed for the ‘Future Lady’; a multifaceted heroine of her own creation, and the driving force behind her designs.

This year’s featured artist, Pippin Frisbie-Calder,has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in major museums and galleries, including the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum, Mississippi, The Urban Institute for Contemporary Art, Grand Rapids Michigan, The Contemporary Art Center, Louisiana, Southeastern Louisiana University, Louisiana, The Capital Park Museum, Louisiana, University of West Florida, Florida. She has held residencies at the Joan Mitchell Center, A Studio in the Woods, The LSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Big Cypress National Preserve, Jakmel Ekspresyon, Haiti and AS220. She received her MFA in printmaking from Tulane University in 2017 and her BFA Rhode Island School of Design in 2008.
