Bonfolk Releases New Designs in Collaboration with NOMA
The New Orleans–based sock company is producing two new patterns featuring the New Orleans Museum of Art’s iconic griffin.
For every pair of socks sold, Bonfolk distributes a pair to organizations in need through its nonprofit Bonfolk Giving Good.
NEW ORLEANS — Today, Bonfolk released two new colorful sock designs in collaboration with the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA). Inspired by the museum’s iconic griffin, the patterns are now available exclusively from the NOMA Museum Shop (in store and online at shop.noma.org) and from bonfolk.com.
New Orleans–based company Bonfolk is known for their vibrant and playful sock designs, which draw inspiration from the city’s culture and landmarks. In addition to NOMA, Bonfolk has developed designs with institutions and businesses including the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority, Preservation Hall, Shuck Cancer New Orleans (American Cancer Society), Turkey and the Wolf, and others.
Bonfolk’s designs for NOMA feature a stately griffin—taken from an architectural element on the museum’s neoclassical building— in two colorways: blue and rainbow.
To date, Bonfolk has donated over 800,000 pairs of socks through its nonprofit Bonfolk Giving Good, which distributes socks to causes in New Orleans and across the United States. For every pair of socks purchased from this collaboration with NOMA, Bonfolk Giving Good will donate another pair to the nonprofit collective House of Tulip, which provides zero-barrier housing, case management, and community programming to trans and gender nonconforming people in New Orleans.
