Live Music from Handmade Worldwide

A collective of musicians showcases handmade instruments from around the world featuring: Mahmoud Chouki, Sam Dickey, Yusa, Jafet Perez, Brett Gardner, Ben Fox, Hanna Mignano, and Barnaby Gold.

Featured Exhibition and Gallery Talks| Photogenic: Photographs from the Collection of Cherye R. and James F. Pierce
On view in the Great Hall and the second-floor A. Charlotte Mann and Joshua Paillet Mann and Templeman Galleries
Presenting a selection of recent and promised gifts from collectors James and Cherye Pierce, Photogenic: Photographs from the Collection of Cherye R. and James F. Pierce celebrates the monumental impact of the Pierces’ longtime support of the museum’s renowned photography collection as well as their dedication to collecting photography for almost 50 years.
Nayla Maaruf, Conservator of Photographs, will host a gallery talk for this exhibition on the museum’s second floor at 6:30 pm.
Featured Exhibition | Field and Figure: Recent Gifts from Diane and Charles L. Frankel
On view in the 2nd-floor Stafford Gallery
Field and Figure represents an ongoing commitment to collect and conserve a variety of objects in the fields of African and African diasporic art, spanning national borders, time periods, and different media. The term “field” also refers to the space within the borders of a picture, and this gallery includes a variety of approaches to picture-making using different ideas about color and form, realism and abstraction.
