Summer Camp Session 2: Mirrors & Windows (Ages 8–10)

Mon, June 12th, 2023 - Fri, June 16th, 2023

Join us for summer camp at NOMA in 2023! Weeklong camp sessions offer small-group experiences devoted to a single age group at a time.

Session 2: Mirrors & Windows (Ages 8–10) | June 12–16

Storytelling and Connection

In this session, we will explore the galleries and garden in search of stories. How can art “reflect” something about you, or help you see yourself more clearly? How do artworks act like windows to peek into others’ lives, or to better understand another time or place?  Create your own artworks that tell your story.

About Summer Camp at NOMA

Our summer camps are grounded in experiences with art in NOMA’s collection, special exhibitions, and the Besthoff Sculpture Garden. Campers explore the galleries and garden to engage in close looking and use conversations about artworks as a launching-off point to develop critical thinking skills, connect with others, and deepen personal identity and creativity.

We emphasize an interdisciplinary approach to creative thinking and art-making. Your young artist will explore various art-making mediums and processes including drawing, writing, movement, sculpture, painting, and more—all guided by professional teaching artists.

Summer camp sessions are based on guiding themes that vary week to week. Sign up for one OR multiple to build a meaningful summer experience!
