Description

Standing on raised openwork platform with tied caning repairs and bottom rim eroded; short legs; extended tubular torso with hands resting on abdomen; brass anklet left leg; string attachments around waist and lower abdomen with clusters of seed pods in front and tuft animal hair at rear; egg-shaped head; lozenge-shaped mouth; long triangular nose; almond-shaped eyes; elaborate coiffure with herringbone patterning extending down middle back; two hornlike attachments back of coiffure and three drill holes back of head, topped by loosely inserted inverted animal horn; linear knobular scarification across clavicle, neck, cheeks, forehead, sides of head; rich dark patina.
