Presented as part of the programming schedule for Called to the Camera: Black American Studio Photographers, Moutoussamy-Ashe will speak about her career as an image-maker, including what motivates her own practice as a photographer. Deeply invested in issues of representation and photography’s potential to create social change, Moutoussamy-Ashe will also consider the relationship between photographs and the fight for civil rights, including important historical work by Black female photographers.
