DESCRIPTION:This year\, experience the seasons change at NOMA with Music in the Garden! Enjoy local musicians performing alongside artworks new and old in the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden on Sunday afternoons February 22nd\, April 12th\, October 25th\, and November 15th. \nSunday\, February 22’s Music in the Garden will feature music from Sir. Chantz Powell and the Wes Anderson IV Quartet.  \nThis program is free and open to the public\, with registration recommended. \nRegister Now \n\nPerformance Schedule\n2-3 pm: Sir. Chantz Powell\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSir. Chantz Powell is an outstanding multifaceted performer with an international career\, showcasing his talent as a singer\, trumpeter\, dancer\, and actor. He has received critical acclaim and has performed at prestigious venues\, award shows\, and charity events across the globe.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Wes Anderson IV Quartet\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWes Anderson is a New Orleans–based trombonist known for his warm tone\, deep swing\, and strong roots in the city’s jazz tradition. A versatile performer\, he is equally at home in traditional New Orleans jazz\, swing\, brass band music\, and modern styles. Anderson has performed with notable artists and ensembles including Delfeayo Marsalis and the Uptown Jazz Orchestra\, earning a reputation as a reliable and expressive collaborator on stages throughout the city. Deeply grounded in New Orleans culture and community\, his playing reflects the city’s rich musical lineage while bringing his own voice to every performance.

SUMMARY:Teen Takeover Night: Sound and Color
DESCRIPTION:NOMA’s Teen Art Council takes over the museum for a night celebrating youth\, creativity\, and connection. Inspired by the exhibition Hayward Oubre: Structural Integrity\, this year’s “Sound and Color” event features opportunities to engage with the exhibition\, relax with friends\, and connect with creative teens from across the city. \nFeaturing: \nLive music from local\, teen-led band Beverly Hills Polo Club \nArt-making activities inspired by the exhibition Hayward Oubre: Structural Integrity  \nOpportunities to connect with HBCUs including Xavier\, Dillard\, and SUNO \nA raffle for prizes from the NOMA Museum Shop and other organizations \nFood available for purchase from Crepes a la Carte and light bites from Café NOMA \nand more! \nAdmission and programming are free for teens. Advanced registration is encouraged.  Only adults affiliated with a teen attendee are permitted to attend.  \nRegister Now \n\nTeen Takeover Night is designed by NOMA’s Teen Art Council (TAC)—by teens\, for teens.
