DESCRIPTION:NOMA’s Teen Book Club is a summer reading and discussion group for teens ages 13-18\, designed to build literary engagement and connect young people to the museum through storytelling\, culture\, and community.  \nTeen Book Club runs from May through August\, with book selections from May through July relating to art and teen interests. In August\, just in time for back to school season\, our Teen Book Club selection will be a book that is included on the Louisiana English Language Arts required reading list. \nTeen Book Club meetings will take place on Fridays from 1-2 pm. Participants can join in person in the Art Studio located on NOMA’s second floor\, or via Zoom. \nThis program is free for all participants. You must be between the ages of 13 and 18 to participate. An 1890 philosophical fiction and Gothic horror novel about a handsome young man who becomes obsessed with his own beauty.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at the museum on select Saturday mornings for Studio KIDS! youth art-making workshops. In this workshop series designed for artists ages 6-12\, we’ll take inspiration from works on view across the museum and the Besthoff Sculpture Garden and make our own creations with a teaching artist. \nAbout Studio KIDS!: Keep it Kinetic\nParticipants will explore the concepts of kinetic sculpture to create artworks that celebrate summer adventures. After viewing the works of Calder and Snelson in NOMA and the Besthoff Sculpture Garden\, young artists will create their own mobiles and kinetic sculptures that will celebrate summer time. \nThe Studio KIDS! sessions will be led by teaching artist Krystyna.  \nRegistration is $25 for members and $30 for other participants. Advance registration is required and includes the price of all art-making materials. \nStudio KIDS! participants receive a 10% discount on purchases made at the NOMA Museum Shop. The discount is valid only for the day of their workshop attendance. Participants must show proof of attendance to receive the discount. Markdown and consignment merchandise is excluded from the discount. \n\nRegister for Studio KIDS!: Keep it Kinetic\nThere will be 1 Studio KIDS!
