Gallery Talk: Curator Amanda Maples and Charlie Kant on Robert Gordy: Outside the Mainstream

Join us for weekly gallery talks every Wednesday at NOMA, featuring curators, artists, and other special guests.
This week, Dr. Amanda Maples, NOMA’s Françoise Billion Richardson Curator of African Art, and Charles “Charlie” Kant of Davis Gallery of African Art will lead a gallery talk on the exhibition Robert Gordy: Outside the Mainstream. Maples and Kent will discuss the influence of African art on Gordy’s work, as well as his personal collection of African art.
This talk will take place at 12:30 pm in the Templeman Galleries located on the museum’s second floor.
Free with museum admission. Louisiana residents receive free admission to NOMA every Wednesday, courtesy of The Helis Foundation’s Art for All Initiative.
