  • foam sheets and shapes
  • markers
  • scissors
  • glue

  • paper tube hanger
  • white twine
  • fabric “yarn”

Steps:

  1. Choose an artwork and try out the “What’s the Story?” Looking Card with a partner!
  2. Look closely at your artwork and ask yourself: what is going on in this artwork? Think about the following parts of your story…
    • Who – a character in your story
    • What – an object that’s a part of the story
    • Where – a symbol or object shows where the story takes place
  3. Create 3 foam ornaments that represent the “who”, “what”, and “where” of your story. Example: Who: Sally the crocodile / What: the golden apples she’s searching for / Where: a forest at night time with a red and blue star in the sky!
  4. Attach each ornament to a piece of white twine: tie around  your ornament or use a pencil to punch a hole for hanging.
  5. Tie your ornaments to your paper roll hanger.
  6. Feed fabric “yarn” through the paper roll to hang up your artwork!
