New Orleans Museum of Art School Programs 2008-2009
Introduction
The New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) Education Division is dedicated to inspiring the creative spirit in visitors
of all ages and providing memorable experiences that lead to increased awareness, understanding and appreciation. We
seek to introduce the visual arts as a source of delight and discovery. We believe that learning to see and seeing
to learn make for a fuller, richer life.
NOMA's permanent collection offers visitors a comprehensive overview of general art history. Visitors to NOMA can see works of art
from North and South America, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Pacific Islands. Additionally, NOMA has extensive collections of decorative
arts, prints and photography. This year NOMA will host exhibitions such as OBJECTS OF DESIRE: Fabergé
from the Hodges Family Collection , and The Art of Caring:
A Look at Life through Photographs.
The Education Division at NOMA is eager to share our exciting arts education programs with students, educators and parents.
We offer a variety of programs designed especially for students and educators, including guided tours, workshops and art classes.
This section of our website provides all the information you need to schedule an art-rich year for your classes. Consult the
following pages for details about school programs at NOMA. We look forward to seeing you.
