Renting NOMA for Special Events

NOMA is available as the premier venue for
Special Event Rentals.

Make Your Next Event a Masterpiece
The unparalleled setting and elegant ambiance of the New Orleans Museum of Art make it the area's most prestigious venue for memorable special events, weddings, business meetings and corporate entertaining. The Museum is available for private functions after normal business hours for groups up to 1,500. Event planners may utilize all or part of the magnificent and varied venues within the Museum. Surrounded by the timeless beauty of the Gulf South's most important collection of art from antiquity to the present, your event will be a masterpiece equal to the art itself.

Elegant occasions are only the beginning of the possibilities for entertaining at NOMA. The Museum has hosted festive casual parties and festivals, hospitality industry showcases, theatrical performances, lively costume events from Ancient Rome to the Roarin' 20s, even children's parties. We welcome your inquiry and encourage your creativity!

NOMA's experienced Special Events Coordinator will be happy to check dates and availability, send you an comprehensive information packet, and work with you to plan and execute your outstanding event.

The Freeport-McMoRan Great Hall

This breathtaking space of gleaming white marble is surrounded by soaring, neoclassic white columns and a balcony with a wonderful view from above. The Grand Staircase is a magnificent focal point for any event. The adjacent galleries hold the Museum's collection of old master paintings. Upstairs, your guests will marvel at the extraordinary collection of Fabergé treasures on loan from the Matilda Geddings Gray Foundation, Louisiana period furniture, and exquisite decorative arts.

The McDermott Lobby

A sweeping expanse just off the Great Hall, the McDermott Lobby is filled with contemporary art. The space works beautifully for seated dinners, cocktail receptions or buffet service.

The Woldenberg Board Room
Located on the second floor of the Museum with a view overlooking the trees and lagoons of the new Sculpture Garden site, this executive board room can accommodate up to 30 guests around its impressive hand-inlaid conference table. Optional meal and refreshment packages are available when reserving this room.

The Stern Auditorium
With easy access through a beautiful gallery, the Stern Auditorium is a perfect venue for meetings, lectures, films, performances and other special programs. This facility comfortably seats up to 220 people.

The Freeman Courtyard and Booth-Bricker Courtyard
These two delightful courtyards are available as additional spaces when you reserve the Museum for your special event, but may not be booked as individual venues. The Freeman Courtyard is adjacent to the Courtyard Café and features monumental bronze gates created by New Orleans artists George Dureau and Ersy Schwartz. Another visual highlight is the witty sculpture by Elisabeth Shannon of an alligator climbing a ladder. The Booth-Bricker Courtyard, near the Museum Shop, overlooks the famous dueling oaks in City Park and the site of the new Besthoff Sculpture Garden. This Courtyard showcases two stunning bronze sculptures and contemporary gates designed by New Orleans artist John Scott and fabricated from industrial aluminum by the MacArthur Foundation. Each courtyard will accommodate up to 75 people.
